Who we are

 

Dik Veenman – founder. Dik has 20 years experience as a communication consultant, including MD of pioneering internal communication agency Smythe Dorward Lambert in the 1990’s. He is a qualified Executive Coach and has extensive experience of enabling conversations at all levels for a wide range of organisations in many different geographies. Dik has an MBA from London Business School and a degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College. In his spare time he mentors troubled teenagers.

John Higgins - Research Director.  John is an author, researcher and highly experienced coach who has written widely on the subject of dialogue in the workplace. He has been a Research Associate of Ashridge since 2004.  Prior to then he was a Business Director at Ashridge working with clients such as The Body Shop, Beiersdorf, Watson Wyatt and the NHS, exploring new ways of making a difference to people and organisations. He also created two open programmes, one focused on power and communication in organisations and the other on leading strategy and change. Before Ashridge he travelled the globe working for traditional management consultancies including Nolan, Norton & Co and AT Kearney.

Dr. David Cannon – Training Director.  David has a PhD in Organisation Behaviour from London Business School. He designs and delivers development courses and coaches senior business people with the aim of improving their impact and effectiveness. A big part of David’s life is teaching and coaching the diverse mix of global business men and women who attend London Business School’s executive development programmes including: High Performance People Skills, the Senior Executive Programme and Essentials of Leadership. He also contributes to company specific programmes for Roche and Nestle and is presently the Programme Director of the London Business School’s Management and Personal Effectiveness Programme designed for Global Banking Markets Royal Bank of Scotland.

Gavin Fenn-Smith - Gavin promotes and delivers our work in the US where he is based. He has twenty years expertise as a trusted advisor to CEOs and senior executives on organisational and leadership issues. He has experience in a wide range of industries and organisational situations across many different countries and cultures. His expertise includes: CEO and senior executive coaching, leadership succession, strategic talent management and executive assessment. He has lived and worked in the US, the UK and France, and has widespread experience in many other countries and regions including the Arabian Peninsular, South East Asia and India. Before working with Kemp and Watson, he worked for Equinox Organizational Consulting for five years in New York. Prior to that he was in the London office of Mercer Delta Organizational Consulting. He holds a BA (Hons) from the University of East Anglia, and a MBA from the University of Warwick Business School.

Liz Wiggins - Liz joined the team in 2012 to help further develop our range of services and products.  She combines this with her role as faculty member at  Ashridge Business School, which she joined after an extensive international career in marketing and internal communications. Liz has held a variety of posts at Unilever and BT, living in both France and The Netherlands, while working across Europe and Asia. She has led and participated in a wide range of consulting assignments from strategy implementations and culture change to internal communication and engagement, working with a variety of high-profile organisations including Microsoft and Oxfam. She graduated from Durham University with a degree in Psychology and Philosophy in 1986 and has a Masters and a PhD in Organizational Psychology from Birkbeck College, University of London. Liz has recently co-authored a book, The Theory and Practice of Change, for Oxford University Press
